With a new school year upon us and much of the world facing the economic downturn and rebellious activity renewing our faith in one another is crucial to pushing forward. The Leila Grace Foundation was created to give survivors a voice, a chance to express their feelings and experiences with college sexual assault. As technology advances allows us to communicate more effectively and frequently with others it is crucial to use this technology to share vital information. The main issue with sexual violence is relationship based. Humans need relationships to survive and ultimately thrive in life. Friendships, romantic relationships, and business relationships all start with communication of shared ideas and beliefs. Speaking to others about stopping sexual violence is one way to end this tragedy across the nation. The media has been using the information collected to shine a beacon of light on this dark crime hidden in silence. One media source is Cosmopolitan magazine which has been focusing on the issue of college sexual assault check out the article for more information. The same magazine has also partnered with SAFER nonprofit organization to share stories and information on the safety of students at college. We hope more media sources continue to focus on the issue of sexual violence to help start the discussion that can save lives. Here at the Leila Grace Foundation we will be starting a search for a volunteer to help with the design of a mobile app to bring technology and sexual assault information to all! Details on how to become our mobile app volunteer check back soon!
